Tell us a little about yourself:

I'm a guy from Norway, born and raised here. Currently living in Oslo, the capital of Norway. I have always been into technology, and my parents gave me a camera on a trip back in the days (Picture: My first camera (1990)). In the following years I was into different kinds of creative arts, and this might have given me the inspiration for doing something different. In 2008, I bought myself a simple point&shoot camera from Nikon, giving me the ability to get more into photography. I quickly found the limitations with the point&shoot camera. After doing some research, I found myself to be a Nikon guy and invested in a Nikon D7000.
This has been my passion for the last few years now, and whenever I find the time for it, I grab the camera and start looking for something interesting.

Are you an amateur or a pro photographer?

I'm not sure what I would call myself, because of the different areas of photography. In general, I would call my self a prosumer or photo enthusiast.
I'm a geek at heart, therefore some might call me a gear-head. Still I wish to utilize what I have, and often limit myself with one lens to be more creative and take photos that I normally would not think of. This year I have learn quite a lot about photo editing in Adobe Lightroom & Photoshop. This has given me an new inspiration for photography, meaning that a photo can be so different with just a small touch. Therefore I often think of the processing while I actually take the photos and how I see the image. This is really fulfilling, seeing an motive and capture it, then apply the changes and get the images that I saw before I had captured the photo.

What do you like to photograph?

Personally I like to photograph scenery that each time you look at it, you see something different. Therefore nature photography is perfect choice.
There are different kinds of nature photographies, and looking though what i have posted the last 2 years, I hope to have presented something different that the normal images we all see daily. Portrait photography in a setting of events or candid portraits is also something I really like. I have also experimented with abstract styles while learning flash photography.

What is in your photography kit?

In my bag I use a Nikon D7000 with MB-D11 Multi-Power Battery Pack and SB-700 Flash. The Nikon D7000 is a beast of a camera, in terms of features and possibilities. At the moment I have been looking to upgrade to a full frame Nikon, but not sure which one I should consider best for me. The D700 is of interest, but the newer D600 is also very interesting.

My lenses:
Nikon Nikkor 35mm f/1.8G
Nikon Nikkor 50mm f/1.4G
Nikon Nikkor 35mm f/2.5 & 50mm f/1.8 (E-series from the 1980's)
Nikon Nikkor 105mm f/2.8
Nikon Nikkor 24-70mm f/2.8
Nikon Nikkor 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6

Sigma DC 8-16mm f/4.5-5.6
Sigma EX 50mm f/2.8 DG Macro
Sigma DC 150-500 f/5-6.3

I do also own a Black Rapid RS-7 Camera Strap, Hähnel Giga T Pro Wireless Release and Benro Tripod.
In combination this is really good, and I feel that this cover most of the different areas of photography.

What's your favorite lens?

My favorite lens must be the Nikon 24-70mm F/2.8, because of the ability to be creative. But the lens that I use the most is the Nikon 50mm, because of the lightness and sharpness. The best photos I have taken (in my opinion), I have taken with these to lenses.

Any favorite photographer(s)?

There are many really good photographers, but my favorite must be Ansel Adams because of the black & white style that he had. A real treat for the eye and I have been inspired by his work to try out different things.

Which is your own favorite picture?

My favorite photo that I have taken is named "Blue Theme". I really like this image because every time I look at this, I see something different. The processing I did on this one took me a rather long time, and therefore I have many different edited versions of this one. Still, the blue coloring here gave it so great definition, and hidden in the photo is my parents looking at the view. I did a rather large print of this one and it's hanging in my parents house.

What is your dream?

My dream at the moment is do be able to take awesome photos and share it with everybody. In a sense, I would like to earn money on this hobby, but I'm not into photography for the money. Therefore this is mainly a future option. I do dream (like most of us), get known for something. My true calling might the creative side, with photography. I have a few plans for some future projects, and I will post this online.

Any advice or great tips to share?

My greatest tips to any photographer is to use your camera with only one lens. Limit yourself. This will make you think of different ways to capture and see the world though your camera. I have learned so much by doing this, and at the same time being more creative than what I might have been if I had all of my lenses with me.
