Tell us a little about yourself:

I am Haydn Bagtas. Originally from the Philippines, my family and I migrated to Australia in 2006 and have been enjoying living the life down under ever since.
My interest in photography goes all the way back in 1990, where we were taught in high school how to handle SLRs the old fashioned way, including processing our own film.

Are you an amateur or a pro photographer?

I consider myself a mix between amateur and enthusiast. An amateur because I got a whole lot to learn, and an enthusiast because I am eager to gain the required knowledge and skill.

What do you like to photograph?

I take photos of whatever catches my eye. But if I were to decide specifically, I would be hard-pressed to choose between people, food and collectibles.

What is in your photography kit?

I don't really have much save for my trusty D90, 18-200mm and 50mm lenses, SB 900, Manfrotto tripod and Lowepro bag

What's your favorite lens?

Based on the two subjects I like to photograph the most, the 50mm is my weapon of choice.

Any favorite photographer(s)?

Annie Leibovitz, Scott Bourne and Lisa Bettany

Which is your own favorite picture?

One from my Project 365 collection: Tow...Mater!

What is your dream?

To get into and learn the ins and outs of macro photography.

Any advice or great tips to share?

Go out with your camera and just have fun taking photographs.
