Tell us a little about yourself:

Hi, I am Craig Taylor from Sheffield, England. I have been interested in photography for a long

time, but I never actually owned a camera until about 2 years ago.

Are you an amateur or a pro photographer?

I definitely don't take photographs for a living, so I guess that makes me an amateur. It really

would be great if I could do this for a living.

What do you like to photograph?

Most of my images are of insects. But I like both landscape and portraiture. I am known mainly for my insect studio macros.

What is in your photography kit?

600D, SB24, 50mm prime, 28-135mm, Tokina 11-16mm, canon macrophoto 35mm. Loads of macro lenses, waaaay too many to list.

What's your favorite lens?

Canon macrophoto 35mm. Its an old but amazing lens, solid steel construction, lightweight, tiny, tapered nose, built in iris ... no CA at all I could go on.

Any favorite photographer(s)?

Ansel Adams, Alan Sailer and Lincoln Harrison

Which is your own favorite picture?

Capo Vaticano, looking out to Stromboli - Just reminds me of being there. I took a boat ride out to the volcano in the distance and watched it erupt by night. Truly magical. the best photos in my opinion are the ones that connect you to the emotion at the time.

What is your dream?

Finding life on another planet.

Any advice or great tips to share?

Use the internet, research and plan your photographs in advance. Anybody can make the same macros I do, it's not a matter of money, it's a matter of time and research.
