​Tell us a little about yourself:

My name is Patrick McCarthy ~ I am from Manchester in the UK ~ it's in the North West of England ~ have been interested in photography for about 4 years (on and off!)

​Are you an amateur or a pro photographer?

Amateur! Definitely! Nothing better than on a day off to head out with the camera :=)

 

What do you like to photograph?

​Favourite photos ~ outside shots ~ photos of nature ~ sunsets, animals,~ quite like taking photos of people too

 

​What is in your photography kit?

Not really an expert on cameras (far from it) I recently bought a Canon 350D with Sigma lens from a friend ~ that's my main camera ~ also have a Fuji camera (bought from same friend!)

What's your favorite lens?

The Sigma is the lens that came with the Canon ~ it's pretty good (so far!) Would like to get a macro lens sometime as would love to get some close up shots.

 

​Any favorite photographer(s)?

You of course! There's another photography on flickr ~ Malena ~ who does some amazing shots ~ don't really know any professional photographers to be honest :-/

​Which is your own favorite picture?

My favourite photo tends to change day to day! (very fickle) I took one of a sunset last summer that got about 350 views on flickr so I'll say that one for now :-) It's called Pennine Sunset (Pennines are a range of hills in the North of England)

What is your dream?

​Dream!! Wow! Would love to travel the world and do a project and range of photos taken from different continents and sections of life ~ that would be fascinating ~ having said that am sometimes quite happy just heading out on a sunny day with my camera and enjoying myself.
 

​Any advice or great tips to share?

I'm one who needs advice more than giving it ~ just enjoy what you do ~ Life is short!! :-)
